+ 1 - 1 | § ¶NO MORE SPAM!!
I've updated the blogging software used on the site to the newest release of pivot (1.30 RC2). It comes with alot of cool anti-spam features, so hopefully I won't have to delete any more "your site is cool, visit pokerstars.net" comments. Right now I'm still having issues with the comments page and the css layout so bear with me. For now, NO MORE SPAM!+ 1 - 1 | § ¶Ultimate!
This weekend, Suzanne and I played ultimate frisbee. I thought I was in shape before the game, but after nearly twisting my ankle and falling several times, it was clear that I wasn't! We did end up winning the game (on a couple clutch Suzanne catches), so morale was high, but the aches and pain were felt during the next few days. I'm going to have to work hard to earn the "most valuable defensive player" award that I got last year!I'm surprised more people don't play Ultimate Frisbee... its a good way to get in shape and be competitive at the same time.
+ 1 - 2 | § ¶CD players in cars obsolete?
Recently I got fed up with my FM radio iPod adaptor and replaced the CD player in my Ford Focus with a stock casette player that I got from ebay. The cassette player cost ~ $25 and was cheaper than a new FM radio adaptor. I did have to buy a cassette iPod adaptor for $20 but at $45 I was still paying less then the new $50 FM radio iPod adaptor that I was looking at (to replace the crappy old one).
After putting in the cassette player and using the casette adaptor, my iPod sounded better than ever over my car stereo. Granted its not perfect, but the solution worked really well for me. Also, I'm not going to miss my CD player any time soon, because I have over 15 GB of music on my iPod now.
That got me thinking... would I buy a new car with a cassette player if an iPod compatible option wasn't available? Are CD players in cars obsolete? Can I even get a cassette player anymore!?
+ 0 - 2 | § ¶White Sox vs. Royals
I had a chance to go to a White Sox game vs. the KC Royals last night. It was half price Monday, so my ticket cost $15. After parking and food, I ended up spending closer to $40, but that's not bad at all for a whole evening of fun. I went with my friend from work, and we had some great seats... by the right field foul pole. Despite the fact that I hate watching baseball on TV, I had a fun time at the game. The food was pretty good (had a polish sausage and a corned beef sandwich) and the fans by us were very fun to talk to.
The only drawback was the ass-cold weather and the lack of warm hats in the sox gift shop... I ended up having to register for a credit card to get a free hat as a gift. Bad credit is a small price to pay for warmth... at least I can cancel the card :)
Aside from the cold, I was definitely impressed with the experience... plus the white sox slaughtered the royals. Go White Sox!

So I'm sitting at work typing away at my computer when I overhear two people talking in the next cube. Much to my surprise they aren't talking about something they saw on TV or the weather or sports or anything typical... they are talking about Linux. One guy was talking about how cool the next release of KDE (a linux desktop environment) was going to be. He was saying that it was going to include SVG and render most of the graphics using the technology. Sure I've heard about that already, but its nice to know that I'm not the only one that's interested in that sort of stuff!+ 2 - 0 | § ¶Greatest games of all time?
Gamespot's article about the greatest games of all time got me thinking about some of my favorites. I've played most of the games on the list, but these are the following ones that stand out most in my mind:- Super Mario Kart (1992)
- Master of Orion (1993) - actually I like MOO2 better
- Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! (1987)
- Star Wars: TIE Fighter (1994)
- Final Fantasy Tactics (1997)
- X-COM: UFO Defense (1994)
- Fallout (1997)
- Counter-Strike (2000)
- Starcraft and Starcraft: Brood War (1998)
- Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (1997)
