I'm surprised that more people don't listen to podcasts regularily. One of the best things about owning an iPod (or simlar capacity mp3 player) is the ability to take a large amount of your audio content with you, wherever you are. I love the fact that podcasts do not include a huge amount of advertizing, and that you can fast forward, rewind or pause the playback so you don't miss anything. Additonally there are alot of very interesting programs available, usually in niche topics that are too obscure for mainstream radio... for example, right before Serenity (the movie) came out - I was listening to a Firefly fan podcast for any snippet of news that I could get, news that wasn't available from anywhere else. Here are some of my favorite podcasts:
http://www.lugradio.org(linux oriented, very funny)
http://www.twit.tv (former tech-tv show hosts, wide array of tech related shows)
http://www.pbs.org/cringely/nerdtv/(great tech related interviews)

With this cold, brutal winter - It's good to know that there are still warm places out in the world. This picture is from the Princeville resort in Kauai and it was taken during my honeymoon ;)

Right now I'm sitting in the SAS business class lounge, waiting for my flight to Copenhagen to board. This is the 3rd time in less than two months that I'm leaving Chicago. The first time was to Lake Tahoe on a fun family ski trip (I should post pictures from that soon...), the second time was to Denmark and this time, it's back to Denmark again! I don't mind the traveling now, but I can see how it can begin to wear on people over time. I can't imagine being a traveling salesperson, or pilot or flight attendant... being on a plane more often than not. It's nice to say that you see the world when you travel, but really all you see is airports, the inside of the planes and maybe the place you end up for a little while. If you're on business, you're probably in some office the whole time anyway! I guess I shouldn't be complaining - it's fun to travel business class - and going over seas really seems to get things done. Hopefully it'll be worth it in the end!+ 1 - 1 | § ¶Best Shortcut Ever!

This quote caught my eye in a recent review of the Nokia N800:- Wi-Fi is certainly the preferred connection mechanism for the device, which will happily connect to a network, download RSS feeds and email, and disconnect, all without the user being aware. Indeed, whilst wandering around London with the N800 in my pocket it had been downloading up-to-date information without my knowledge. In a mobile phone such behaviour would be annoying, as it would probably incur network charges, but on a Wi-Fi tablet it was pleasant to have this information close to hand when I wanted it, without having to think about when to connect or where.
